A while ago a friend contacted me to see if I'd known of any preschool Spanish programs. I hadn't, but now I do—and want to make sure everyone who wants their child to get an early jump on learning a second language knows about it! It makes sense...lil' ones soak up language like a sponge—why not introduce them to a second language during this development stage? Early exposure to a second language actually causes more connections to grow in a child's brain, and those connections, in turn, allow for easier additional learning in the second and first languages. Also, new research confirms that children who speak two languages or more do significantly better at school than those who speak only one.

The Spanish Immersion's director Blanca Lawton makes Spanish learning fun during her classes, after-Kinder and preschool programs, and there are some exciting happenings with The Spanish Immersion:

Summer Camps Starting in July in Sacramento and Folsom
9 am–12 pm, Monday–Friday
At Spanish summer camp, children will be shown a trip to South America, crafts, songs, dance, prepare dishes, learn traveling vocabulary in our imaginary journey to the South. The second week will be focused on Mexican traditions.

Arts and Crafts with the Sticker Fairy

Has The Sticker Fairy visited your child yet? Check out her site where you can sign up for monthly deliveries, and watch your child light up when they receive a special delivery of stickers, activity pages and other surprises. It's all age (3-9) and gender appropriate with monthly themes.

Next week on Thursday, December 13th at 11 am Koukla Kids will be hosting a 30-45 minute arts and crafts session with  The Sticker Fairy, which will include a Holiday Make-A-Sticker, Christmas Color pages, and an arts-n-crafts project to take home.  This event is for ages 2-4 and is $5 per child for supplies, and includes a take-home goodie bag.
