This was the first year I've ever done the Black Friday morning insanity, and I was fortunate to get a half-off Guitar Hero at Target and survived virtually unscathed. Some weren't as lucky. My BFF waited in line at Toys R Us for almost 2 hours, and a due-any-minute pregnant gal in line behind me said she was knocked in the belly during the Walmart opening rush...nice holiday spirit eh? Makes Cyber Monday, the ceremonial kick-off of the holiday online shopping season, sound all the better. So crank up some holiday tunes and do some safe shopping at home on your laptop.

Pancreatic cancer devastates families everywhere. Mine is one of them. I think about how this disease took my dad in 4 short months everyday, and now my aunt (his sister) is in the fight too. As with most battles that need to be fought, the first step is awareness. 2008’s historic presidential election warrants a great election night celebration, no matter what party you represent. Citizen Voice—a new, nonpartisan, non-profit movement has responded to voters’ needs by providing nonpartisan, easy-to-understand California voter tools and, is topping off this historic election season by throwing a nonpartisan election night party for everyone. Not the typical boring election night bash, this is a chance to take part in witnessing American history as it is written, together, no matter how you voted!

Hosted by nonpartisan political analyst Gary Dietrich, this party is a no-cover opportunity to celebrate the election at a nonpartisan party. Following a dinner and V.I.P. reception, the doors will open for anyone to join in on a festive night of watching election night results.
